Driveway remodel

Collaboration with Naturally Managed Landscapes Ltd

This open front yard needed some dramatic love to transform it into a private garden space for an elderly client who travelled regularly, so was not around to tend a garden. Defining the private areas and separating these from the roadway and neighbouring properties would also improve security and provide a sense of place.

The design challenge was to transform a heavily shaded, bare and gnarly plot into an attractive green space. The client had a love of woodland azaleas. These were added to sedges, hardy evergreen shrubs and ericaceous plants that could bulk up steadily and be attractive year round

without requiring much attention.

The planting includes climbers to clamber over trellis screens and arches, clearly directing visitors to the front door. The broadly Far Eastern theme of the woodwork reflects the clients past travels.
